Long-term care is characterized as care that is: Return to Our Services
Received as a result of a chronic, debilitating and possibly permanent illness or injury; or in the absence of any definite medical condition, received because of the aging process; Typically received over a long period; Received when recovery is not usually expected; Oriented toward maintenance rather than cure, i.e., helping a person to function despite a permanent impairment; and Often administered by non-medical personnel, or by family and friends.
